Kingdom's Kloset

Kingdom’s Kloset is an outreach program addressing the immediate clothing needs of children in foster care. Children usually leave abusive home situations on very short notice, and their possessions are often limited to what they can hold in their small arms. Agape Families collects clothing donations from area residents and businesses and organizes volunteers to put together personalized, handmade duffle bags containing a week’s worth of new or gently-used clothing and a Prayer Bear. In collaboration with ten local child placement agencies, the duffle bags are delivered to newly-placed foster children, again by volunteers. While it seems like a small gesture, these clothing bundles greatly ease a child’s transition. To date, Kingdom's Kloset has delivered over 6,500 duffle bags in the greater Indianapolis area, each assembled to meet the child's specific needs.
Goals and Needs:

  • A second sorting and distribution team.

  • Securing corporate contributions to include underwear, socks, pajamas and toothbrushes in all bags.
If you know an Indianapolis area foster child in need of clothing, call (317) 580-8501.
